SOUTH WALES DISTRICT COUNCIL – ABERDARE SNU CHURCH

A celebration service was held in Aberdare SNU Church on Sunday 23rd August 2009. The Church was presented with a crystal obelisk, commemorating this special event.

The founder member and Vice President, Mrs Nanette Smart chaired the service. The guest speaker for the evening was Mrs Gwen Bisp of Pontypridd, who also took their opening service in 1984.

Members of the Church Development Circle read inspired poems, and Mrs Nanette Smart gave a talk on the progress that the Church has made over the past 25 years, assisted by St John’s Ambulance Service, whose premises the Church use for their services, and give assistance when required.

The evening was a great success, enjoyed by all, evidence of survival was proved time and again, this of course was of benefit to all attending.

Aberdare Church has become a Church with a great feeling of oneness, where visitors and members join together, thus making Aberdare SNU Church a focal point in the community.

Following the service there was a buffet and a specially made cake with the SNU Logo.

Best wishes were extended from Mrs Gwen Bisp from many other Churches in the South Wales area.
