TRAINING AND AWARDS TUTORING AND ASSESSMENT DAY

BRIDGEND CHURCH SATURDAY 16th AUGUST 2008

10.00 am - 4.00pm

A big thank you to all who braved the elements and attended today.   It was a great day, beginning with an open circle where all those who wished could demonstrate their abilities under the watchful eyes of Carol,   Leah and Pat, plus all the new tutors who have   come   on board.   This was followed by a group session led by Paula Wood   which was enjoyed by all.     After lunch we split into three groups, basic mediumship, advanced mediumship and philosophy.   In these groups everyone was expected to work hard and according to the tutors this is exactly what they did.   Judging by the laughter coming from each of the rooms, however, it seems that they all managed to enjoy it as well.

Once again thank you to all those who attended, whether as Students or Tutors (or helpers, where would we be without them?)   If you were unable to make it today let's hope we meet at the next one.   As they say "watch this space".

WEEKEND EDUCATION COURSE ONE

HELD AT HAFAN Y COED, ABERCRAVE

29th - 31st August 2008

course

These are just some of the lovely people who attended this week's course, others were involved with sittings so missed out!

Well, its over and what can I say except a BIG thank you to everyone who attended and who participated so fully.   A great big thank you to Carol, Leah and Pat you did us proud.  I pushed them to the limit to get my money's worth from them (new regs you see, you have to have your money's worth!)   The fact that they did it all for love and no payment  didn't deter them one bit either!

The students were an amazing bunch, they put everything they could into their work and of course they then achieved more than they thought they could.   They socialised as hard as they worked and I am confident in saying a good time was had by all.

The staff and the management of Hafan-Y-Coed were kindness itself to all of us, and the food was wonderful.   32 resident and 3 day students attended and at the end of the last session I asked how may would be interested in another course and 35 people said yes.   I think that is as good a testimony as any to the work the Tutors did with the groups over the weekend and to the Centre staff who made us feel so welcome.  I was going to say at home but it was better than that, there was no cooking and no washing up!

Last, but by no means least, a HUGE thank you to Carol for her transfiguration demonstration last night.   You could hear the gasps of amazement as those in the audience recognised loved ones, there were a few tears, a lot of laughter and many satisfied customers.   Thank you again Carol.

A confession now, I have never organised anything on this scale before so nervous doesn't begin to cover how I felt on friday morning.   However, after a few weeks sleep I am sure I will think it was all worth it and be ready to tackle the next one!  Joking apart, I wouldn't have missed it for anything, and I feel so privileged to be a part of what I know is going to be a wonderful re-surge in education in South Wales.

There will be more photos soon, watch out for a photo gallery and if anyone wants to send in their views, experiences or thoughts about the weekend I will be pleased to be publish them.  So once again, watch this space!
