"Taking You and Mediumship in South Wales Forward
into the Twenty First Century"

STRUCTURED EDUCATION COURSE

South Wales District Council are replacing monthly workshops with a structured 6 months course covering various aspects of mediumship. The aim and focus of the course will be to provide trainee and advanced mediumship students the opportunity to broaden the theory and practice of spirit communication. 

Courses will instruct, guide and assess you in ways to build your self-confidence alongside your individual mediumistic abilities, public speaking and platform presentation skills. Through lectures, tutorials and practical workshops tutors will aim to increase your understanding and knowledge of the mechanics of mediumship, energies and alterted states of consciousness.

The team of experienced tutors residing in Wales will be joined by experienced tutors outside of Wales each sharing with you their individual knowledge and skills to encourage, challenge, unfold, enhance and expand your mediumship potential or existing mediumship abilities. Assessments are considered an important part of orthodox and on this course two individual assessments will be carried out and feedback given by tutors.

Students who attended monthly workshops organised through South Wales District Council under previous education schemes are encouraged to enrol on the course as the structure and content will take their existing knowledge, skills and understanding to national and international levels of training and development.

South Wales District Council and Spiritualists National Union International (SNUi) are working together for the education and training of students in Wales and students with computer access can go online to see the wide range of different classes held by SNUi and how they benefit each student. With at least one class a day, often more, on a wide range of subjects associated with mediumship SNUi is a place where students can gain extra practice and knowledge in a friendly supportive environment.

Membership to SNUi

All classes are free to SNUi members. To become a member it costs £5 per annum for an individual member of the SNU and £20 per annum for a non individual member.

PLATFORM ACCREDITATION SCHEME

Arrangements are taking place to support existing students enrolled on the Platform Accreditation Scheme. Lapsed students are welcome to re-join the scheme through South Wales District Council.

STUDY GROUPS

Details of SNU Courses (written with either postal or e-mail tutor) are on South Wales District Council website and new study groups can be arranged and existing groups or individuals can be supported on request. 

SNU Education and Home Study Courses

The SNU offers a range of home study courses and through its educational programme enables people to learn about the philosophy, religion and practice of Spiritualism and much more.

Courses are available to the public as well as our membership and exists to support and teach a sound foundation of Spiritualist knowledge and philosophy bringing confidence in understanding. Individual SNU members and churches are also encouraged to study the administration courses availalbe, to give them a clear understanding of the organisation and their part within it.

All students are assigned a specialist course tutor and may study by postal correspondence or email. In some cases it may also be possible to join in church or district study groups. SNU education student Speed Weeks and Weekends are available at the Arthur Findlay College in Stansted and Arthur Findlay Centre in Stafford. On-line tuition is also available to students worldwide who are members of SNU international.

Member students take a combination of courses and assessments that lead to accreditation or the award of a certificate or diploma, more information available at the end of this information page or on the SNU Awards section of the website of the Spiritualists’ National Union.

Please note, platform accreditation (PAS) is only awarded to SNU church/centre members or our Individual membership and certificates (CSNU) or diplomas (DSNU) are issued to our Individual membership only.
