There will be an account of the SNU AGM as soon as possible and a full account presented to members at the half yearly meeting so watch this space it was very interesting.

SWDC AGM

Thanks to all who attended the AGM yesterday.   We had our   usual lively and productive meeting, covering a lot of detail and leaving us with renewed enthusiasm for the year to come.

Thanks also to those from Blackwood Church who made a lovely tea, it was much appreciate by all.

BARDIC CUP

There were over 40 entries this year and the vast majority were excellent.     I took no part in the judging process, obviously as I knew who had written the poems, but I have it on good authority that it was an extremely difficult task.   The result was quite close but in the end the winner was Miss Natalie Evans of Ystalyfera Church with her poem about the history of our movement.

JUNIOR BARDIC CUP

There was also an entry from a young lady of 10 years old and we felt that as this was entered among all the adults entries it deserved a special recognition.   We therefore introduced another category this year and announced her the winner of the first ever Junior Bardic Cup Competion.   As yet we have no cup for this  but we hope that in the future it will become an important event alongside our longstanding Bardic Cup competition.  Congratulations go to Miss Sapphire Empson, also from Ystalyfera.

As neither of the winners were able to be present at the meeting the President of Ystalyfera SNU Church accepted the awards on their behalf (photos below)

Although the AGM is primarly a business meeting it is also a time to catch up.  It doesn't have to be boring and it does have to be done.  Please think about coming along next year.  Date and venue will be published soon.
